A New IBM x3690 X5 server installed in the library for meeting the changing workload demands. IBM® System x3690 X5 is a powerful two-socket 2U rack-mount server using the latest Intel Xeon processors.
Also installed IBM System Storage® TS2250 Tape Drive to archive, retrieve and to secure information.
EBSCO Information Services
Established in 1944, EBSCO is the world’s leading information agent offering more than 300 full-text and secondary research databases covering all subject areas, levels of research, and user communities. EBSCO also offers eBook and eAudioBook services (via eBooks on EBSCOhost) as well as EBSCO Discovery Service. The Kerala University Library is now getting trial access to EBSCO.

INFLIBNET Subject Gateway for Indian E-Journals
A Subject Gateway to Indian Electronic Resources ”InfoPort“ is developed by the INFLIBNET Centre, to serve as a comprehensive gateway to all Indian scholarly content. The gateway open the Indian scholarly content scattered over the Internet through an integrated interface that support search, browse and multiple listing.
The resources covered in the infoPort are organized under ten major categories (000 to 999) according to the Dewey Decimal Classification. Resources in the InfoPort are also arranged alphabetically by subjects.
The Info-Port is now accessible at: http://infoport.inflibnet.ac.in/
Internet Browsing Facility Extended
On 17th August 2011 we have added 23 more computers in the Internet Browsing Centre. Pentium 4 with Core 2 Duo processors, 4 GB RAM with 19″ LCD monitors will definitely give the pleasure of surfing in the centre a true experience.

User Awareness Programme
SCIENCE DIRECT SCIVERSE User Awareness Training Programme Conducted at Kerala University Library on 13-07-2011 at 2.P.M
A user training programme on Science Direct Sci verse was organized at Kerala University Library on 13-07-11. It was organized in the IT section. About 70 participants including Research Scholars, Students and Librarians of various departments attended. The programme was started at 02.00 P.M. Sri Majeed H Asst Librarian introduced the resource person Mr. Manik Sethi , from Elesiver. Mr. Manik Sethi explained various aspects of the Science Direct and continued a presentation of the same. He explained in detail the search procedure and cleared the doubts raised by the participants. The programme was lively with discussion.. The programme closed at 3.30.P.M.
